Lona M. Oyler, 70, of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, January 29, 2005 at her home.
She was born at Home, Kansas July 24, 1934 the daughter of Ferdinand and Clara Unger. She graduated from Marysville High School, Washburn University and the University of Kansas.
Lona worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Topeka State Hospital, Memorial Hospital and retired from the Menninger Foundation.
She married John D. Oyler June 5, 1953, in Marysville. He preceded her in death March 8, 1995. Survivors include one son, Jay Oyler, Silver Lake, KS; one daughter Susan Belisle, Topeka, KS; and three grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services with inurnment to follow will be held 11:00am Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions to Midland Hospice Inc., 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka 66606 or to Washburn University Endowment Association, 1700 SW College Avenue, Topeka, 66621 .
