Lois Marie Martin Morgan,

Lois Marie Morgan, 86, died Sat. July 7, 2007 at Magnolia Manner Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Miss Morgan was a native of Pittsburg, KS. She had resided in St. Simons Island for the past year and a half. She was a graduate of the Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburg, Kansas. Lois was a physical education teacher at Topeka High School, from which she retired after 25 years in 1966. After her retirement, Lois and her husband Thomas J. Morgan became the owners of Morgan's Grocery which they operated until 1985. Lois and Thomas Morgan were married on June 8, 1947, and had been married for 60 years. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Cathedral in Topeka.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice Frost, and husband Randy of St. Simons Island, a son Jeff Morgan and wife Iona, of Topeka, five grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas J. Morgan and her parents Paul Van and Kattie Lee Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Lois will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to The Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
