Lois Johnson, 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away
after a short illness Wednesday, April 10. 2024 at Midland Hospice House with family by her
side.
She was born December 28, 1929 in Soldier, Ks, the daughter of George and Gertie (Flanders)
Scheidegger.
Lois graduated from Soldier High School in 1947. Lois worked briefly at National Reserve Life
where she met Don when he came in to pay his insurance premium, but she spent most of her
life as a mother and homemaker. She was a member and Deacon of Trinity Presbyterian Church
and afternoon Circle. She had also been a Cub Scout Den Leader, Room Mother and had taken
care of several elderly relatives.
Lois married Donald B. Johnson on June 3, 1951 in Soldier, Ks, he preceded her in death on
February 2, 2014 after 62 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents,
George and Gertie Scheidegger, two brothers Dale and Fred Scheidegger and infant brother
Clarence, and sister Betty Moore.
Survivors include daughter Carol (Bruce) Inloes of Topeka, Ks and son Bruce (Kena) Maple Hill,
KS, sister Elsie Ingels, Topeka, KS; 4 grandchildren Michelle (Jason) Wheeland, Olathe, Bradley
Johnson, Brian (Melissa) Inloes and Wade Inloes all of Topeka; and 8 great grandchildren; Chase,
Kalie, Braden, Brinley, Brennan, Zachary, Everett and Ehren.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2023, 11:00 am, with visitation starting at
10:00 am, both at Penwell-Gabel Chapel, Topeka Kansas. Graveside Service will follow at
Memorial Park Cemetery.
