Lois Evelyn Repp, 87, left her earthly home at Plaza West Care Center in Topeka to go to her heavenly home on Monday, March 31, 2014.
Lois was born on April 16, 1926 in Keats, KS the daughter of Arthur V. and Kathryn M. Nelson. They preceded her in death. She grew up on various farms in the Riley, KS area and attended Eskridge High School. After marrying her first husband, Phillip E. Brown in 1943, they lived in Denver, CO; it was during this time she gave birth to her son, Gary P. Brown. After Phillip's death in 1949, she and her son moved to Paxico, KS to live with her parents.
She married Dale E. Shultz in 1950 and during this time she gave birth to her daughter, Sherry K. Yoho. They were later divorced. In 1981 she married Thomas A. Repp. They were married 24 years until his death in 2005. Lois was a long time member of Central Church of Christ. Lois worked for Security Benefit Life for almost 30 years retiring in 1989.
She is survived by her son, Gary P. Brown and daughter Sherry K. (Alex) Yoho, both of Topeka; stepson, John (Carol) Repp of Pequot Lakes, MN and step daughter Allison Repp of Topeka; four grandchildren, Chris Greywolf, Heather Brown, Laney (Shane) Gliser, and Joshua Yoho; three step grandchildren, Susan (Mike) Olivas, Kristin Beers, and Robyn (T.J.) Sekel; eight great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
She loved and lived for her family and could never get enough of her precious grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her loving sisters, Hazel F. Dial, Audrey M. Kirk and half-sisters Margaret Baer and Helen Gherkin.
She will be so missed, but her family is rejoicing at the happiness that she is now experiencing.
Lois will lie in state after 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 2 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 3 at the funeral home; the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
