Lois D. Lister, 80, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012.
Lois Darlene Lister was born October 13, 1931, in Shawnee County, Kansas, daughter of Harvey and Lucile (Bahnmaier) Wulfkuhle. She graduated from Highland Park High School and Stormont-Vail School of Nursing. Lois worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Harry & Clovis Bowen until she married. Later, she went to work at St. Francis Hospital until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed politics; assisting Ross Perot with his run for presidency.
Lois was united in marriage to Herman Lister on May 4, 1955.
She is survived by her three children, Melvin Lister, Topeka; Ronald Lister, Kissimmee, FL; and Galen (Geneva) Lister, Topeka; two grandchildren, Sara (Heath) Lawson, Kansas City, KS; and Elijah Lister, Topeka; brother, Duane Wulfkuhle, Topeka; and sister, Annette Payne, Topeka.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Laura Kimbal.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka. Interment will follow at Rossville Cemetery, Rossville. Lois will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15th, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
