Lois Axelton, 78, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka.
She was born October 29th, 1944, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Elmer and Lucile (Carlson) Axelton. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church on Easter Sunday April 1, 1945. She started grade school in Olsburg, KS and graduated from Topeka High School.
She spent the majority of her working years in the banking industry working for First National Bank, and Capital Federal bank. She also worked part time at JCPenny as well as Ben Franklins. She enjoyed doing craft work and spent a lot of time helping friends with flower arrangements.
Lois was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka. At both churches she was an active member of the choir.
She was animal lover and didn't go long without a dog, cat, or bird to spoil. She was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching Royals baseball and KState football and basketball.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Marvin (Lee) Axelton, and Martha (Erickson) Axelton, as well as her niece Sharon (Moore) Axelton. Lois is survived by Nieces and Nephews Ron Axelton, Karen (Axelton) Arney, Sherryl (Axelton) Ferretti, Mary (Erickson) McGinnis, and Jim Erickson.
Visitation will be held at Penwell Gabel Midtown chapel on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 5:00pm, to 7:00pm, Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 10:00am at Penwell Gabel Chapel, with committal to follow at Olsburg Cemetery, 4050-4072 KS-16, Olsburg, KS 66520.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
