Lloyd E. "Ike" Icenogle, 87, Topeka, passed away on May 19, 2008. He was born on June 26, 1920, in Ray, Illinois, the son of Lloyd and Florence Icenogle, and one of seven siblings. After graduation, he served in the US Army during WWII as a B-17 bomber pilot, achieving the rank of Captain. He was awarded two Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Ike married Rosalie Davis in 1951. They have two children: Camille (Chuck) Olcese, Pittsburg, KS; and Tracy (Mary) Icenogle, Roeland Park, KS; and three grandchildren: Julia Icenogle, Luke Icenogle, and Abigail Olcese.
Over his working career, Ike was a professional photographer, carpenter, and cabinet maker. Upon retirement, Ike continued to make fine cabinetry and clocks for friends and family. He was a member of Brookwood Covenant Church.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, May 23rd at Brookwood Covenant Church, 33rd and SW Arnold, Topeka. Interment will be at Bucks Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Thursday, May 22 at Fontainebleau Apartments Club House, 4231 SW Emland Drive, Topeka. Ike will lie in-state from noon until 9 pm on Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookwood Covenant Church.
