Lloyd E. Johnson, 94, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2005 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. He was born on February 16, 1911 in Topeka, the son of Edward C. and Hannah Swanson Johnson. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1927. He was employed by Santa Fe Railway and retired as a Purchasing Agent and Materials Manager in 1973 in San Bernardino, CA. He returned to Topeka in 1974. He was a member of the Swedish Baptist Church, West Side Baptist Church and Northland Christian Church. He married Rose Nelson on September 27, 1936 in Lenora, KS. She preceded him in death on December 23, 1997. Survivors include one daughter, Anita M. Epps of Topeka, two sons, Stanton L. Johnson of Topeka, Mark A. Johnson of Lawrence, five grandchildren, Renee Epps of Brooklyn, NY, Benjamin Epps of Dusseldorf, Germany, Andrew Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, Chelsea Johnson and Elliott Johnson of Lawrence. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
