Linn Alden Morrow, 94, of Topeka, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka.
He was born on October 26, 1919, to Mathias and Edith (Wilson) Morrow on a farm in Jewell County, Kansas.
Linn married Hazel V. Barleen on February 28, 1943; she preceded him in death on August 21, 2013. He is also preceded in death by a son, Robert Morrow and a great-grandchild, Burke Franklinn Krygowski.
He is survived by daughters, Joyce Pratt (Texas) and Jan Grecian (Missouri), daughter-in-law, Marlene Morrow (Missouri), along with four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Linn graduated from Concordia High School, worked as a dental technician, and served in the US Navy as a Radioman 1st Class during World War II. Linn attended watchmaker/goldsmith school in Kansas City, worked in Atchinson, KS, and later owned Morrow Jewelry and Gift Shop for 13 years in St. Mary's Kansas. In Topeka, prior to retirement, Linn used his jeweler skills working at J.C. Penney's, Zale's and Bachman Jewelers, retiring in 1995.
Known for his quick smile and always-ready joke, Linn was loved by many who knew him in his community and church.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Brewster Place Health Center - Fink Family Living Room, Topeka. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Brewster Place Foundation, 1205 SW 29th Street, Topeka, KS 66611.
