Linda L. Ruckman, 55, of Topeka died Saturday , August 2, 2003 in a Topeka hospital. She was born September 15, 1947 in Effingham, IL. to Wayne W. and Martha L. Zimmerman Goebel.
Linda was reared in Montrose, Il and was a 1965 graduate of Dietrich High School, Dietrich, Il. She worked for the State of Illinois. Linda was a library clerk at Shawnee Heights High School for twenty years.
She was an active member at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She was a member of the choir and a caregiver in the congregation's Stephen Ministry Program. Together with her husband, they were a marriage mentor couple.
On October 7, 1967, she married Charles L. Ruckman, he survives and lives in Topeka. Linda is also survived by two sons; Robert and his wife Melinda of Hopkinsville, KY, John and his wife Heather of Lawrence, KS. There are five grandchildren, Carter, Collin, Brenna, Camden & Sophia. Her mother, Martha Goebel lives in Montrose, IL.. There are two sisters; Pam Nicodemus of Piqua, OH. and Judy Carroll of Paris, IL. and three brothers; Larry, Alan and Randy Goebel all of Montrose, IL.
Linda will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town beginning Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at Noon. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 , 11:00 am, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Graveside services will be Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, 11:00 am, in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Wheeler, IL. Stewart-Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, IL will be in charge.
