Linda Sue (Smajstrla) Humphries, 73, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
She was born January 19, 1951, in Corsicana, Texas, the daughter of Herman and Leona (Koucerk) Smajstrla. She was a graduate of Alvarado Texas High School.
Linda was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for various hospitals and clinics, retiring in 2006.
Linda married Pat Alan Humphries on June 30, 1973 in Cleburne, Texas. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her son, James Barry Humphries; her daughter, Melissa Michelle Humphries; and two grandchildren, Rebecca and Alexander Raines.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and crafts.
Honoring her request cremation is planned. A private family burial will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro, Texas. Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in Topeka, Kansas is assisting the family.
