Linda Hood
Linda Marie Hood, 53, of Topeka, passed on Saturday, September 3 at her home after her long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February, 2, 1952 in Topeka, the biological daughter of Ruth Watkins and Leroy Gardenhire, however, she was raised in Lincoln, NE. by Walter and Helen Gill.
She graduated with an associates degree in Business Administration from a business college in the Los Angeles area. She went to work for the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles in the Hemotology Division for 13 years. She was known for her cooking, her love of sports, and having a very warm heart.
Her family would like to thank her extended family at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles for their love and support.
Survivors include 4 daughters; Mary Gardenhire, Latausha Rodgers, Paula Booker and Jalanda Gardenhire; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Cremation is planned. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, September 9, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 10 at the funeral home.
