Linda Selbach, 59, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010.
Linda Ann Selbach was born August 27, 1951, in Ida Grove, Iowa; daughter of John Junior Harris and Betty Ann (Peters) Edkin. She graduated from Highland Park High School, Topeka, and attended Kaw Area Vocational Technical School.
Linda was united in marriage to John J. Selbach on May 30, 1969, at St. Matthew Catholic Church. She worked for Topeka 501 School District, Sheltered Living, and opened Dream Catchers in 2004. Linda enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She raced at Topeka raceway, and later supported her son in his racing.
Linda was survived by her mother, two children, Lisa Ann (Allen) Green, Topeka; John Joseph (Anissa) Selbach, Topeka; grandchildren, Jordan Green, Cameron Selbach, Kendall Selbach, and Karigan Selbach; brothers, Michael J. Harris (Vickie Adams), Springfield, MO; Scott K. (Corrine) Harris, Topeka; Jeffrey J. Harris, Carbondale; and Wayne E. (Kelly) Edkin II, Topeka; sisters, Joan M. (Lee) Veronie, Topeka; Marla K. (Ray) Long, Whiteville, NC; and Shelley Harsha, Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, step-father, Wayne Edkin, Sr., husband, and brother, John Junior Harris II.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home; where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Dream Catchers, Special Need Funds, 4123 SW Twilight Drive, Topeka, KS 66614-3403.
