Lila M. Rice, 94, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
She was born November 30, 1928, in Sabetha, Kansas, the daughter of Eli and Minnie (Stoldt) Strahm. She graduated from Sabetha High School.
Lila was employed by The State of Kansas and USD 501, before retiring.
Lila married Arnold Lee Rice on April 9, 1950 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2006. She was also preceded her in death by three siblings, LeRoy A. Strahm, Mildred A. Stalder, and Anna M. Fenton.
Survivors include her sister, Darlene Drolett, numerous nieces and nephews.
Lila enjoyed embroidering, traveling, fishing, and camping.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
