Lila Paslay, 77, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2012. She was born March 20, 1935 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Louis and Camilla Duncan. She has resided in Topeka since 1958.
Lila graduated from Washburn University and Emporia State Teachers College with a Master's Degree in Counseling. She was employed by Capper Junior High School and Topeka West High School. Lila was later employed as the Director of the Topeka Association of Retarded Citizens. She was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
Lila married Kenneth W. Paslay in June, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Mark Paslay of Topeka, one granddaughter, Mandy and one brother, Norman Duncan of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy Paslay and Kevin Paslay.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at West Side Baptist Church. Private inurnment will take place in Grantville Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to West Side Baptist Church, 1008 SW 4th St., Topeka, KS 66606 or to TARC, 2701 SW Randolph Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family.
