Lila Mae Seyle Farrell, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at her home. She was born on February 9, 1919 in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Louis and Anna Warren Seyle. She was raised in Charleston before coming to Topeka in 1953. She was employed by Stormont-Vail Hospital before retiring in 1981. She continued volunteering for the hospital until 2000. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and the Stormont-Vail Auxiliary. Lila married Walter E. Farrell on May 4, 1943 in Charleston. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Rose Ann Canada of Topeka, two grandchildren, J.P. and Lori Ann Tompkins, three great-grandchildren, Stone, Kylee and Mya, one brother, George L. Seyle of Charleston, SC and one sister, Lilian McKinney of Lubbock, TX. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Lila will not lie in state. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
