Letha P. (Hudson) Zahourek, 96, passed away at Midland Hospice in Topeka, Kansas on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. She was born November 6, 1924 in Redfield, Kansas, the daughter of William Thomas and Clara Rosetta (Hixon) Hudson.
Mrs. Zahourek, a registered nurse through the U. S. Cadet Nurse Corps program during World War II, worked as the night supervisor at Kansas Neurological Institute the last 13 years of her career.
Letha was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served on various boards and taught Sunday School. She taught the Menninger Bible Class for12 years.
She married James C. Zahourek on September 15, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kansas. They were married for 73 years until his death in January 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include a daughter Gay Keyes (James) of Monument, Colorado; and a son James J. Zahourek (Jeff) of Lawrence, Kansas, plus two grandchildren; Jamie Keyes of Denver, Colorado; Kevin Keyes (Genevieve) and two great-grandchildren, Scarlet and Myles, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6th & Gage. We ask that you wear your mask and practice social distancing.
