Letha L. Taggart, 94, of Topeka, passed away July 15, 2009 at Presbyterian Manor in Topeka.
Letha was born August 2, 1914 in Frankfort, KS to Amos and Lillian Flinn. She was a graduate of Topeka High School and was a lifetime Topeka resident. Letha worked several years for Capper Publications and retired from Kansas Power and Light in February of 1977 after 35 years of service. Letha married Robert E. Mills on October 12, 1940, who passed away in 1957; and later married Louis V. Taggart on October 9, 1965, who preceded her in death in 2006. Letha was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 462.
Survivors include her son, Donald and his wife, Diana Taggart of Salt Lake City, UT, four grandsons; Dale and Brian Berg, and Ryan and Douglas Taggart, a son-in-law, James Berg, and the first great-grandchild is expected this month. Letha was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jo Berg, October, 1979.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19th, 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 10th Ave., Topeka. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20th, 10:00 am, also at Penwell Gabel Mid-town Chapel. Heartland Hospice Chaplain, Terry Frizzell, will officiate.
