Lester Damme
Lester G. Damme, 72, of Topeka, passed away Thursday January 27, 2005 at his home.
He was born December 31, 1932 near Hoyt, KS, the son of Erwin and Lillie Zeller Damme.
He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1950. He worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a former member of the Shawnee Boat and Ski Club.
He married Marilyn L. Myrick on August 10, 1952 in Hoyt, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Rodney and his wife Kathy of Topeka, a daughter, Diana Barnhardt and her husband Ronnie of Lecompton; daughter Denise Collette of Lecompton, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, a brother, Gerald Damme and his wife Peggy of Topeka, two sisters; Inez Patterson of Lees Summit, Mo and Karen Wheeler of Topeka and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Damme will lie in state after 1:00 pm Sunday January 30, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday January 31 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Rochester Cemetery.
