Les Kelly, 72, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009.
He was born December 7, 1936 in Topeka, KS, the son of Clifford L. and Mary E. (Beier) Kelly. He was a graduate of Topeka High School and Washburn University where he was a Kappa Sig and lettered in football and baseball. Les was a lifetime member of KSSA and NSSA, where he achieved numerous All-American Honors in skeet shooting.
Les married Lois E. Allen in Topeka in 1959. She survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Kim Terhune (Randy) and Kari Holt (Mike) both of Maple Hill, and Konni Flynn (Mike) of Topeka; his sister, Jan Ward of Topeka; grandchildren, Andy and A.J. Terhune, Alyson, MaKenzi, and Chloe Holt.
A private family memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617.
