Leone R. Mckinney

June 7, 1923 — October 20, 2015

Leone, daughter of Lee and May Yoos Schumacher, was born on June 7,1923, on the farm in Louisville Township, about three miles northwest of Louisville, Kansas.

She attended grade school in Louisville, graduated high school in Wamego in 1941, and attended Washburn University from 1946-48. She worked for KP&L as a keypunch operator for several years.

She married Eugene L. McKinney of Topeka on September 3,1948, at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, Topeka.

She is survived by two children, Ruth Jaynes (Larry) of Omaha, Nebraska, and David McKinney (Helen) of Weston, Missouri; two granddaughters, Sunny (Sarah) Jaynes of Portland, Oregon, and Christine Jaynes (Mario Contreras) of Omaha, Nebraska; and great-granddaughter, Aranza Contreras Jaynes.

She was preceded in death by a son, James L. McKinney; three brothers, Lewis, Don, and Tom Schumacher; and granddaughter, Heather Jaynes.

Services will be held at Grace Cathedral at 2 pm Saturday, October 24. Memorials may be given to Capper Foundation-Easter Seals or Grace Episcopal Cathedral, both of Topeka.
