He was born April 9, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Walter and Gertrude (Kornoejle) Engel. He served in the Army during Vietnam War.
Private burial will be at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas.
Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel will assist the family.
