Leonard N. Crawford

Leonard N. Crawford, 77, of Topeka, formerly of Shelbyville, TX passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at a Topeka hospital. He was born on January 30, 1928 in Goss, LA, the son of Leonard N. and Ruby E. Carroll Crawford. He moved to Topeka on May 27, 2005. He was a Army veteran of WWII. He was a credit manager for a Chevrolet dealership in Houston for many years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Center, TX. He married Joyce Emery on November 21, 1987 in Houston, TX. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Sherry Conway of Wells, TX, one granddaughter, Hilliary Lambert of Wells, TX, two great-grandsons, Keagan and James and two nieces. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at East View Cemetery in Big Springs. Burial will follow. Mr. Crawford will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Methodist Childrens Home c/o First United Methodist Church, 211 Porter St., Center, TX 75935.
