Leona "June" Harper, 91, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006.
She was born June 9, 1914 in Panhandle, TX, daughter of Eva Robb and J. C. Stansbury. June moved to Topeka as a child and attended Topeka Schools.
She Married LaVerne Harper in 1935. He died in 1962.
June retired from Fidelity State Bank after 15 years of service.
She was an 85 year member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. She organized the Topeka Travel Club in 1965 and for many years traveled extensively throughout the world.
Survivors include son, Steve and Jolene Harper, Richardson, TX, daughter, Nancy and Edwin O'Bryant, Topeka, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 1 at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. She will lie in state after 12 noon on Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.
