Leo L. Walker, 96, formerly of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
He was born October 23, 1918, in Council Grove, Kansas, the son of Harry and Bertha (Borkert) Walker.
He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a life-time member of Philip Billard VFW Post #1650 in Topeka.
Leo married Thelma Blanton in 1942. They were married 72 years and had one son, Steven. Leo and Thelma were members of the University United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma (Blanton) Walker; son, Steve (wife Connie) Walker; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
