LeNora E. Wolfe, 96, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2008. She was born on April 21, 1911, the daughter of William and Cora (Henry) Cook in Corning, Kansas. She was a graduate of Seneca High School in 1930. She moved to Topeka in 1947 and was a member of the Crestview United Methodist Church, a Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 70, A.A.R.P., Topeka Travel Club, Active Prime Timers, a member of the Phyllis Chapter of the Eastern Star of Horton, Kansas, Topeka Artists Association, and the Federal China Painting Club. LeNora was a life-long avid bridge player, belonging to various clubs. She had a passion for college basketball, rooting for both KU and KSU. She enjoyed reading and cooking, but her greatest joy was her family. She was a resident of the Topeka Presbyterian Manor for the past eight years.
LeNora was married to Paul N. Wolfe on November 30, 1934. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1987. To this union they had a son, Michael Ray, who resides in San Francisco, with his wife, Ann Simms. She had two grandaughters: Kirsten Wolfe Thomas, Denver; and Brett Haltiwanger, San Francisco. LeNora was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Cook, Topeka, and her sister, Nina Saip, Manhattan, Ks.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Topeka Presbyterian Manor Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at the Corning Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Parkinson's Association. To leave a special message for the family, visit www.PenwellGabel.com.
