Lena R. Morford

Lena R. Morford, 78, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on May 26, 1926 in Killdeer, North Dakota, the daughter of George and Christine Geeze Vollmer. She moved to Topeka in 1951and moved to Auburn two years ago. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She married Chester C. Morford on March 31, 1946 in Killdeer, North Dakota. He survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Fort of Topeka, Carol Mann of New York, Joan Hollinger of Pennsylvania, one son, Duane Morford of Topeka, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five sisters. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Morford will lie in state after Noon Monday at the funeral home.
