Leila B. Mathias, 75, Topeka, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Midland Hospice House. She was born August 12, 1938 in Osage City, Kansas to Elbert C. and Sylvia A. (Bover) Benton.

Lee graduated from Osage City High School. She was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, retiring after 31 ½ years.

On June 1, 1958, she married David C. Mathias in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Bret Mathias of Topeka and Mindy Thierolf and her husband Bruce of Wamego; two grandchildren, Cassandra and Benjamin Chmiel and one sister, Sondra Kennedy of Lindsay, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 21 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th, Topeka, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
