LaVonne Marie Blankenship, 89, Topeka, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital and went to be with her husband Bob.
LaVonne was born September 4, 1925 in Topeka, the daughter of Clarence W. and Myrtle M. (Stanley) Canrobert. She grew up in the Oakland area where she attended grade school and Holiday Junior High. She graduated from Topeka High School.
She met and married the love of her life, Robert I. Blankenship, Jr. on December 18, 1942 in a home ceremony when he came home on leave from the Navy. They had 69 very happy and loving years together before he passed away January 24, 2012.
She was a stay at home mother, homemaker and devoted wife. She was also a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include daughter, Tammy Blankenship, Topeka; son, Jerry Blankenship, Topeka; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Clarence Canrobert, Jr.
At her request, private graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, and her soul will rest with our heavenly father.
