Lavina Joan (Mauer) McCall, 88, passed into her Savior's arms in the early morning hours of August 12, 2021.
She was born to parents, John and Emma (Hefner) Mauer on July 13, 1933, in Topeka, KS. She was a graduate of Hayden High School.
She married Earl Eastman McCall on December 29, 1951 at St. Joseph Church, Topeka. They were married just shy of 52 years as Earl passed in 2003. Lavina was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.
Lavina was a lifelong Catholic and was active in church activities as a member of St. Joseph Church and later Most Pure Heart of Mary Church.
She is survived by daughter, Charlotte McCall, of the home, Michael McCall (Jeri), Topeka, and daughter Lynette Nelson, Topeka, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brother, Raymond Mauer (Barbara), of Paxico, and sister, Delores Mauer, Topeka, as well as many nephews, nieces, and many special friends. Lavina dedicated her life to raising her family.
Unconditional love was her greatest attribute. All who knew her were blessed mightily by her giving spirit. She found purpose and was passionate in her service to Jesus, family, and community. She leaves a legacy of faith, love, and compassion that will continue to endure for years to come.
Graveside services facilitated by Penwell Gabel Midtown will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 10 am, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Father Phil Winkelbauer will officiate. To remember Lavina is to remember Love Never Dies.
