Laura L. Anderson

Laura L. Anderson, 66, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on February 14, 1942 in Topeka, the daughter of Lawrence and Jessie Burch McKinley. She was raised by her dearly loved great-grandparents, Josiah and Mary Jane Fritts. Laura graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960 and attended banking classes at Washburn University. She was employed at Southwest Bank for 13 years as Branch Manager and retired from Super Chief Credit Union as a loan officer after 20 years of service. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Laura married Robert K. Anderson on May 6, 1961 at Hope Lutheran Church in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Terry Anderson Paletta, Lori Anderson and her husband, Tom Huzarevich, Sherri Anderson and her husband, Josh Drew and Angie Anderson Voigt and her husband, Bruce, six grandchildren, Dustin Anderson and his wife, Carrie, Tyler Paletta, Brianne Paletta, Jordan Huzarevich, Riley Voigt and Sheridan Voigt, her siblings, Marcia Billbe, Bill McKinley, Lorretta Amiot, Mike McKinley, Mary Scott and her "bestest" friend, Karen Kier Stith and dear friend, Shirley Jennings. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Ron McKinley and son-in-law, Brian Paletta. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1315 S.W. Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, KS 66604 or to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W. Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
