Larry L. Bond, 69, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015.
Larry was born August 8, 1946, in Kansas City, MO, to Leslie and Daisy (Kuhn) Bond. He graduated from Topeka West High School. After high school, Larry joined the Army Reserves as a medic. Later returning to Topeka, he went to work for BNSF, formerly Santa Fe Railroad, retiring after 33 years. He was very involved in sports, playing fast pitch softball and golf. He also officiated high school and college basketball and football for 25 years. He was an avid K-State fan and supporter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Laura Bond and two daughters, Julia (Nick) Murray and Amy Collins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd, Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka.
