Larry Lee Kramer, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Midland Hospice House. He was born on August 12, 1926 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Preston Clyde and Freda (Dietrich) Kramer.
Larry graduated from the University of Kansas and was an electrical engineer for Kansas Power and Light Company for 43 years, retiring in 1988. On July 12, 1946 he married Marcella Weaver in Topeka, KS. He was an active member of First Christian Church and U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Larry enjoyed yearly fishing trips to Canada and recently his trips with Marcella to Europe and Australia.
Larry is survived by his wife Marcella of the home; his son Don Kramer and his wife Angie of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, Matthew Kramer of Kansas City, MO and Emily Kramer of Overland Park, KS. He was preceded in death by a son Steven Alan.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Cir, Topeka, KS 66606.
