Larry Groves
Larry D. Groves, 60, Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at a local hospital.
Larry was born October 19, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Dr. Quentin D. and Nelma M. (Chelf) Groves. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1964, Washburn University in 1968 and obtained his Master's Degree in Education Administration in 1975.
He taught at Monroe and Linn Elementary Schools, and was principal of Pleasant Hill/Capital View Elementary School in the Seaman School District. He later was employed by Kirk & Cobb Realty and taught licensure classes for the Kansas Association of Realtors.
Survivors include his children, Courtney Franklin, Topeka, Adam Groves, New York, NY, Carrie Groves, Atlanta, GA, Kelly and Cady Groves, Weatherford, OK, Kelsy Groves, Wichita; three grandchildren; and a sister Linda Groves, Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lorma Fritz.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2007 at Mount Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
