Larry D. Strimple, 80, Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014.
He was born February 22, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Ollie and Bernice Hudson. He graduated from Topeka High School and Washburn University. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War.
Larry was a salesman and district manager for Cain's Coffee, retiring in 1983. He then joined Prestige Coffee where he was also a salesman and retired as district manager. He was a very active member of the Topeka community.
Larry married Joann Elizabeth Manion on November 12, 1971 in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on June 17, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steven Strimple and step-son, Marty Manion.
Larry was a very active father and grandfather to Vanessa and her children, Rachael and Gregory. He was the kids' biggest soccer fan and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children, Vanessa Roller (Jim Figgs), Topeka; Vicki Mirowski-Rogers, Loveland, CO and Michael (Becky) Manion, Port Charlotte, FL; ten grandchildren, Rachael Roller, Gregory Roller, Christopher Mirowski, Brandi Walhstrom, Becki Carlson, Meghan MacDonald, Josh Rogers, Wade Manion, Hillary Manion and Tyler Manion and nine great-grandchildren, Lillian, Luke, Brianna, Lilly, Isiah, Trinity, Teghan, Blake and Ashley.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
