L. Fred Meinholdt, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Aldersgate Village. He was born on January 1, 1925 in Topeka, the son of Charles L. "Shorty" and Julia Allison Meinholdt. He attended Topeka High School. Fred was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater. He was a printer by trade, owning M&M Printing Company in Topeka. He was a member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM and the Arab Temple Shrine. He formed a 17 piece orchestra. Several members still reside in Topeka. Fred married Kay Stinson on January 25, 1948. Kay graduated from Marceline High School in Marceline, MO. She was a bookkeeper, working together at M&M Printing and continuing to work at Los Angeles. They remained married for 57 years. They retired in 1990 and moved from Las Angeles, CA to Las Vegas, NV for 16 years. They traveled the world after their marriage. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2006. Survivors include one son, Virgil Meinholdt of Olathe, one daughter, Joan Zibell of Topeka, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one brother, John Meinholdt of Topeka. Private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
