Kyle Schmidt

Kyle Wayne Schmidt, 22, of Topeka, passed away on October 25, 2013.

He was born on March 15, 1991, Kansas City, Kansas, to Thomas Schmidt and Teresa (Hattabaugh) Creek.

Kyle graduated from Topeka West High School in 2008. He worked as an automotive tech at Ed Bozarth.

Kyle loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working on cars. He was always there to lend a hand to friends and family.

Kyle is survived by his loving parents, Thomas Schmidt, Topeka; Teresa (Ron) Creek, Topeka; brother, Shane (Heather) Schmidt of Topeka; step sister, Chandra Creek, Topeka; two grandmothers, Mary (Wylie) Welston, Butler, MO; and Angela Schmidt of Lawrence, KS; step grandparents, Barbara and Ernie Cramer, Topeka; aunts, Diana (Daryl) Rhodes, Baldwin; and Kathy (Ken) Squires, Lawrence; uncle, John Schmidt, Lawrence; niece, Shelby Schmidt; cousins, Kristyn and Kyle Fish, Morgan Rhodes, Tim Squires, and Andrea Noltner; dogs, Tank and Kilo; and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wayne Hattabaugh and Arthur Schmidt.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka.

Kyle will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
