Kizzie "Kitty" "Big Mama" Jackson, 57, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021.
She was born September 8, 1964, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Floyd and Arlene (Holmes) Jackson.
Kitty was a loving, fun and caring person. She had the biggest heart that anyone knew.
She treasured her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a sweet spot for music. She enjoyed playing cards; especially Solitaire.
Survivors include her companion, Thomas "Bubba" Ruffin; daughters, Kizzie Toussaint, Ursula Jackson, and Santrice Jackson; siblings, Steve B. Jackson, Arlene Marie Jackson, Floyd Jackson, Manuel Jackson, and Lawrence Jackson; grandchildren, John Bowman, III, Tione Jackson, Sherman Barnes, Jr., Ja'Nay Toussaint, Jerome Toussaint, Jr., Ja'Michael Jackson, Jamal Toussaint, and Trenese Barnes; great-grandson, John Bowman, IV; a host of nieces and nephews and granddogs, Bella and Bentley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gwendolyn Jackson and brother, Floyd Faulkins and grandparents.
A Celebration of her Life will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
