Kenneth "Rex" Scharp, 64, passed away on April 5th, 2013 in Topeka, KS. Rex was born in Nebraska City, NE on October 22, 1948, to Frances Joan (Kerker) Scharp and the late Floyd Herman Dwight Scharp.
Rex was an adventurer that loved fishing of all kinds to include king crab fishing in the Bering Sea, hiking, camping, and traveling. He had a love for the state of Alaska and all the adventures it had to offer. Rex will be remembered as being a loving dad, great cook, and handyman that could create and repair anything.
He is survived by his mother, Frances and sister, Sherry Morris of California; children, Jonni, Elijah, Faith, Israel and Paul Scharp of Topeka, KS, Jon Paul Steier of Bethlehem, PA, Doemiko Flores of Sneads Ferry, NC, Robert Nisbet of Eugene, OR, and Rebekah Melnick-Watada of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Angelika Scharp; and many more friends and family. He was preceded in death by his cherubic son, Levon Scharp.
