Kenneth Marti

Kenneth Marti, age 90, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at his home in Topeka. Mr. Marti was born May 24, 1911 in Newton, Kansas the son of William Adolph and Alta Showalter Marti.

Mr. Marti was a Criminal Investigator for the State of Kansas from 1940-1956 . He then sold insurance until his retirement in the mid 1980's. Mr. Marti was a 60 year member of the First Baptist Church. He also served on the Shawnee County Civil Service Board from 1986-1994.

Mr. Marti married Grace Esther Kowalewski on November 10, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas. She preceeded him in death on June 30, 2001. Survivors include:

Two Sons William Marti Arvada, Colorado
Phillip Marti Topeka, Kansas

Funeral services will be held 10:00a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2002 at First Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Marti will lie in state after noon on Friday, May 17, 2002 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m.
