Kenneth L. Young, 91, Topeka, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Midland Hospice House.
Mr. Young was born Aug. 21, 1911, in Osawatomie, the son of Kenny L Young and Myrtle Gregg.
Mr. Young was a retired teacher/coach with a Degree from Physical Education Degree from Baker University and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Colorado. He was named to the Baker University Athletic Hall of Fame in October 1998. He served as State Adjutant of the American Legion for nearly 30 years, He was a member of The Arab Shrine, Moose Lodge, 40 & 8 of the American Legion, and the VFW..
He married Eva Jean St. Louis in Topeka on February 28, 1948. She survives. Other survivors are two sons, Clinton L. Young of Shawnee, Ks., Stacy Young of Topeka, and a daughter Marlena Young of Descanso, California. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Services will be at Penwell Gabel Midtown Chapel at 11:00 am on Wednesday, Nov. 6th, 2002. Interment will be in Lincoln Garden at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Young will lie in state after 8:00 a.m. Tuesday and visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 pm Tuesday, Nov. 5th, at Penwell Gable Mid Town Chapel.
