Kenneth G. Keller, 93, died Friday, September 10, 2010. He was born March 30, 1917, in Delia, KS. He grew up in Delia with his two sisters and three brothers. He attended Emporia Teachers College and then taught school in a one room school house for three years in Paxico, Kansas. He then joined the Kansas National Guard and was put on active duty in the Army in December 1940. While on leave, he married Eloise Kaul on October 15, 1941. He served in Europe during WWII. He was the director of the Kansas Treatment Center for Children. He ended his career as the assistant director of Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Kaul Keller, in 2009. Kenneth is survived by his son, Frank (Carolyn) Keller, daughter, Martha (Marvin) Fairbank, grandchildren, Peter Keller, Daniel (Katie) Fairbank, and Lindsay (John) Sullivan; great grandchildren, Sally Fairbank, Robert Fairbank, Susanne Fairbank, and Easton Keller-Sullivan.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
