Kenneth W. Hartzell, Sr. of Topeka, 60, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
He was born February 18, 1959, in Topeka, KS the son of Allen and Bonita (Morgan) Hartzell.
He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1977.
Ken worked for Hills Pet Nutrition for 34 years.
He was passionate about attending his grandchildren's sporting events; he was their #1 fan. He enjoyed going for long rides with little one his beloved dog. He was an avid KU and Washington Redskins fan.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Hartzell, Jr., his wife, Melissa; daughter, Heather Cunningham; five grandchildren, Kloey, Kerrigan, Kenneth, III "Bubba", Kayla, Kori; great-grandchild, M.J.; sister-in-law, Dona Hartzell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ron Hartzell; his longtime companion, Annie Paslay and a great-granddaughter, Milena Barnett.
Family will greet friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and then again from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. Topeka, KS 66604, A Celebration of Ken's life will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, 120 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
