Kenneth Dwain Rahberg, 88, formerly of Topeka, KS, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015, in Rochester, MN.
Ken was born December 5, 1927, in Dover, KS, to Edward and Julia (Butner) Rahberg. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1944 and briefly attended college in Texas before returning to Topeka to work at Thatchers. Ken served his country in the Kansas National Guard. He married Viola "Vi" Stephens on May 10, 1951. In 1956, Ken and Les Martin opened Commercial Office Supply Company at 708 West 6th Street which specialized in office design, office equipment and supplies. Ken later became the sole owner of the company. A branch was opened at Westboro Shopping Center in 1979. Ken was active in the West Topeka Rotary Club serving as term as president and in 1980 was honored as a Paul Harris fellow. He was also a member of the Topeka Lodge #17, AF & AM and Arab Shriners. Ken loved antiques, cars, and stained glass design.
He is survived by a son, Rick Rahberg; daughter, Cheri (Rahberg) Hann; grandchildren, Christian Rahberg and Laura (Buller) Weerheim and her husband, Mark; and great grandson, Zachary.
Vi preceded Ken in death on May 31, 2015. They were married 64 years.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
