Kelly Redmond

After searching around in the coal mine, God said he yet needed another jewel to add to his collection. He looked around and he found the one that sparkled the most and added him to his collection. On October 22, 2006 he picked out Deacon Kelly Redmond as that sparkling jewel. Kelly was born May 18, 1932 to the late Promise Redmond Jr. & Ruby Redmond who preceded him in death. Kelly was a member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ for 19 years under the leadership of Pastor/Founder Wayne L. Franklin & District Missionary/First Lady Ethel Franklin, where just recently he was elevated to Assistant Deacon where he served faithfully.
Kelly united in holy matrimony to Ruth Redmond on March 1, 1958. He worked as a Machinist for Scotch Cleaners for 40years and he also worked for the State of Kansas as a Custodian for 30 years, he was recently retired from both jobs.

Cherishing his memories include his wife Ruth Redmond, one daughter Juanita Redmond of Topeka, KS , and one step daughter Ann McCoy of Fayetteville, NC, two sisters Kate Shepherd(George) and Betty Benjamin all of Colfax, LA. Helen Shepherd and Oshabea Redmond Larry who preceded him in death. Five brothers Henry Redmond Colfax, LA, Truman Redmond(Thelma) of Pine Bluff, AR, Theodore Redmond(Catherine) Topeka, KS, Ivory Redmond, Shreveport, LA and Arnold Redmond Colfax, LA. Six Grand children Zakiyyah Robbins Topeka, KS, Juantario McDonald Topeka, KS, Antuan Barefield Topeka, KS, LaShan Brown , Troy Williams Fayetteville, NC and Adrian McCoy Brooklyn Park, MN. 11 great grandchildren and a host for nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Redmond will lie in state after 1:00 pm, Monday, Oct. 30 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, Oct 31 at St. Paul Church of God in Christ.
