FIEGER, KEITH L.
Keith L. Fieger, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 18, 2004. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather.
Keith was born to Frank and Sina Fieger on March 23, 1931 in Topeka, Kansas. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1949. In February 1952, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War with the 1st Marine Division, receiving the Purple Heart Medal for wounds received in combat. Keith graduated from Washburn University in Topeka in 1962 and began work with the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, the predecessor of the Drug Enforcement Administration. In 1985 , he retired from the DEA, having served as Special Agent-in-Charge of the Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Chicago and Dallas Divisions.
Keith was a man of high moral and family values and had immense integrity, generosity, courage, compassion, determination and humor.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Sharron (Wahl) Fieger;
daughter, Kristi Morrow and husband, Kyle, daughter, Sheri Strong and husband, Mike, sons, Mitchell Fieger and Brett Fieger;
brother, Frank Fieger, brother, Richard Fieger and wife, Laura;
grandchildren, Laura McBride and husband Tony, Joshua Gunter and wife, Jennifer,
Stacey Gunter, Lisa Bryant and husband, Keith, Christopher Strong and Kelley Strong; great-grandchildren, Megan Gunter, Rene Gunter, Abigail Bryant, and Jacob Gunter; nephews, Russell and Darin Fieger; and many good friends.
Funeral services will be held in Topeka, Kansas at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Fieger will lie in state after 2:00pm Tuesday and the family will greet friends and relatives from 7:00 to 8:00pm that evening at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, Garland, Texas, on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Patrick Erickson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 2929 S. First Street, Garland, Texas 75041.
