Kayla Marie Lowrey, 22, Silver Lake, was called home to the Kingdom of
Heaven on Sunday, June 16th, 2013.
Kayla was born September 19, 1990, the daughter of Larry and Elisa Lowrey.
Kayla attended the Silver Lake school system and graduated from Heritage Christian School in 2009. Kayla was a proud member of the Heritage Christian Eagle volleyball team, Heritage Singers, and Student Council.
She was also an avid performer, participating in school plays and various singing engagements. Kayla was most recently employed as a nanny in Manhattan and she was pursuing a degree in business at Manhattan Christian College.
Kayla was a loving and caring individual who never met a stranger. She
touched countless hearts on her journey through this life. Her ability to listen and her compassionate will to help others allowed her to be a person
that many could lean on. It was her relationship with God that allowed her to develop these characteristics.
Kayla was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Linda Sue Lowrey and
Lynda Ann Goodnow.
Survivors are her parents, Larry Lowrey Jr. and Elisa Lowrey; two sisters, Kendra and Kira Lowrey; grandfathers, Larry Lowrey Sr. and Darrell Goodnow and best friend, Grace Holmes.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Midtown, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at
Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, 730 SW Fairlawn, Topeka, KS. Inurnment will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kayla Lowrey Memorial Fund at Silver Lake Bank, 200 Railroad St., Silver Lake, KS 66539.
