Kay Underwood

Kay A. Underwood, 56, Topeka, died Firday, Aug. 13, 2004 at Stormont Vail Regional Health Center.
She was born March 16, 1948 in Topeka, KS the daughter of J.G. and Catherine M. Crozier Wright.
She was a Topeka resident all of her life. Kay graduated from Topeka West High School and Washburn University. She worked for U.S.D. 501 as a teacher. Kay was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She married Roger L. Underwood, January 28, 1967 in Topeka, KS he survives.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Sam, he died in 2003
Other survivors include a son Micahel Underwood of Leawood, KS a daughter Julie Underwood of Brooklyn, NY, grandchildren Hannah, Lydia and James, a brother Lee Wright, Pensacola, FL and 2 sisters Susan Corby of Charlotte, NC and Jane Corby of Tecumseh, KS.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at First United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Kay will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made in Kay's name to the First United Methodist Church 600 SW Topeka BLVD. Topeka, KS 66603.
