Katie M. Rumold

Katie M. Rumold, 96, of Topeka, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor. She moved to Topeka in 1928. She resided here, except for a short time in E. St. Louis, IL and several years the Bancroft community.
She was an active member of Central Park Christian Church for more than 70 years. While residing in Bancroft, she was a member of the Bancroft New Idea Club, the So & So Club, and the Homemakers FCE Unit.
She married Clarence F. Rumold on May 6, 1928 in Council Grove, Ks. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Opal in February of 1981.
Surviving are a son, Lloyd Rumold, Topeka, and two daughters, Norma Britton, Soldier, KS, and Carol Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC., six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Rumold will lie in state after Noon Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Central Park Christian Church, 1535 S.W. Clay, Topeka, Ks. 66604.
