Kathy Mast

Kathy A. Mast, 50, passed away with the comfort of her family on July 7, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born November 6, 1957 in Clinton, MO to Donald D. Breeden and Delores D. (Davis) Houk.

Kathy graduated in 1975 from Deepwater High School in Deepwater, MO, she continued on to college and in 1992 graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor's degree and later received her Master's degree. She was a special education facilitator for USD #345 at Seaman High School.

She is survived by her husband, Harold L. Mast, whom she married on June 11, 2005 in Eureka Springs, AR. Other survivors include, her parents, Kenneth L. and Delores Darlene Houk, Deepwater, MO; a daughter, Carrie Beth Titus and her husband Joseph of Red Lodge, Suffolk, England; a son, Charles Brandon Hankins and his wife Kim of Diamond, MO; a stepdaughter, Lynzi C. Mast of Topeka; four siblings, Deborah K. Breeden of Clinton, MO, Denver P. Breeden of Osceola, MO, Rebecca L. Dietz of Clinton, MO, and Donna D. Moreland of Clinton, MO; two grandchildren, Tyler Gene Hankins and Garrett Michael Hankins; and one step granddaughter, Courtney Titus. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald D. Breeden; a brother, Donald Dale Breeden; grandparents, Denver Oscar and Opal Alene Breeden, Paul Davis and Katherine McClure; and step grandparents, Orville and Mabel Houk.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 11 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg, OH. Kathy will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 10, at the funeral home where family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kathy's name may be sent to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604.
